Vigors are hotkeyed 1-8, so it's not something that was a byproduct of consolisation but a concsiouss design choice. It's not arbitrary, the entire game is designed around the limit. This isn't a rehash of bioshock, it's something familiar but different. It's not an exploration game like the first, it's an intelligent take on the modern shooter. Overall, these things alone make Infinite inferior than the original BioShock. The clothing system sucks in comparison to these. Why take out a good feature? To make these simpler for the casual market? Lack of ammo types and visual upgrades on weapons There is no good reason to justify checkpoints. Again, this makes the game less entertaining to play, and more of a chore to play. BioShock 1 and 2 had quicksaves, why didn't this? Some people are busy, and just want to press F6, save their progress, and come back later. Shields make the game boring, frankly.įorcing people to play until a check point is completely BS. Completely removes the tension from the game. You simply cower behind an object and regen your shield until your okay to be a meat shield again. Why make the game easier? Seriously, I completed the game on hard and didn't die once. 2 weapon limit makes the game far less varied in combat situations, and is a poor attempt at trying to make it more challenging. At least get rid of the 2 weapon limit in 1999 mode. It simply is not as fun to play as the original. Sure, they didn't go for the realistic approach in this game, but In BioShock 1 and 2 you could carry all weapons. Sidearm + a gun on your back + a gun in your hands. Why? Just why? 2 weapon limit isn't realistic. So, I then went and played the old BioShock, and I noticed these things immediately, which I realised had been bugging me in Infinite. I cannot help but think this game is overhyped, and it could have been so much better. Im enjoying Infinite, but find it lacking at times.
